CONCERTO CLASSICS WON ICMA 2020

CONCERTO CLASSICS WON ICMA 2020

Concerto Classics is the first and only independent Italian record label to win the first prize.

“WILLAERT E LA SCUOLA FIAMMINGA A SAN MARCO” is the winner in the EARLY MUSIC category at ICMA 2020!

Specially designed for the exhibition “DA TIZIANO A RUBENS. CAPOLAVORI DA ANVERSA E DA ALTRE COLLEZIONI FIAMMINGHE” of the Doge’s Palace in Venice, this project perfectly reflects the magnificence of the works of Adrian Willaert, Flemish composer who dealt with the music of San Marco in the sixteenth century. The Cappella Marciana and La Pifaresca directed by Marco Gemmani do justice to the extreme complexity of this repertoire.

The ICMA, International Classical Music Awards, is the most prestigious classical music award, with sixteen general categories and eight specials. An international jury of nineteen members assesses the creativity, originality in the choice of repertoire and the artistic excellence of the various publications in competition. MUSICA is the Italian member of this jury and its director Nicola Cattò is the Secretary General of ICMA.

Concerto Classics was nominated with two other productions:

THE ROSSINI PROJECT VOL. I: THE YOUNG ROSSINI finalist in the category ASSORTED PROGRAMS

GIOACHINO ROSSINI, IL MIO PICCOLO TEATRO PRIVATO nominated in the category SOLO INSTRUMENT
