  Lucio Labella Danzi

 

 

After earning a degree in Cello, Lucio Labella Danzi perfected his skills by studying with some of the world's most renowned cellists. He earned his Diploma in Musica da Camera con Pianoforte [Chamber Music with Piano] at the Accademia Musicale in Florence under the guidance of M° P. N. Masi; moreover, he participated in several specialized courses with the Trio di Trieste under the guidance of M° P. Farulli. In 2009, he obtained a Masters' degree in "chamber music" with highest honors from the Conservatorio "Cherubini" in Florence.
He was a member of the Orchestra "A. Toscanini" in Parma, where he appeared in various performances as First Cellist and subsequently, up until 2008, he was a stable member of the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. He has also performed with the Orchestra Haydn in Bolzano.
His soloist performances draw on a repertory of Baroque, Classical and 20th century works and he has appeared together with the Complesso d'Archi di Parma, Orchestra del Forum Fiorentino, Orchestra Consonanza, Orchestra Guido D'Arezzo, I Solisti Fiorentini, I Cameristi del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Narni Opera. He has performed in chamber music groups in the music season programs of several important associations, such as the Società dei Concerti of Bolzano, the GAMO and the "Genio Fiorentino". He appears as the First Cellist with the Orchestra Sinfonica Veneta, the Orchestra dell' "Opera Festival" in Florence, the Orchestra of the Teatro dell'Opera in Livorno, the Ensemble Conductus of Merano, the Cameristi del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina.
He has performed in numerous concerts in Italy and abroad with "Quartetto Perseo", receiving praise and recognition.
He holds the Chair of Cello at the at the Conservatorio "C. Monteverdi" in Bolzano, where, in 2009, he successfully performed all of Bach's 6 Suites for cello solo and Beethoven's Triple Concerto.
In Bolzano, he is a founding member of "Five Lines", a quintet with piano which recorded Martucci and Respighi's quintets as a CD to be distributed together with the January 2011 edition of the magazine Amadeus.
