The Quartetto Erasmus met for the first time in 1995, for the first recording ever of Quartetto by Aldo Finzi (1897-1945), published by Nuova Era.
The group's repertory ranges from J.S. Bach to J. Haydn and W.A. Mozart, from Schubert and Brahms to contemporary composers like Cavadini and Solbiati.
Among their recordings are Quintetti con chitarra by Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Brower, Guastavino with Andrea Dieci; Sestetti con pianoforte a quattro mani by Fetis, Cavadini and Giardina for the Milanese recording studio, MAP and recently, under the Concerto label, Sonate da Camera by Agostino Steffani, one of the rare recordings of the original Quartetto Erasmus.
The Quartetto Erasmus carries out an intense activity performing mostly in Italy (Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, Tuscany) and has participated in many important musical manifestations: "Melzo Musica" in Melzo, "Piano Master in Gravedona, seminars at the Conservatorio di Musica in Brescia, "I luoghi della musica" in La Spezia and "Lunatica ‘98" in Carrara.
Moreover they have played for important cultural Foundations among them, the "Rockefeller Foundation" and the Centro di Studi Umanistici "F. Petrarca".
