Biography of Federico Caldara
Born in Bergamo in 1976, Federico Caldara took up the piano at the age of eight. He subsequently enrolled in the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan and, studying under M° Ottavio Minola, he earned his degree with honors. While taking various advanced specialization courses in piano, he began to learn harpsichord under the guidance of Professoressa Marina Mauriello Frischenschlager.
In 2003 he won first prize as harpsichord soloist in the "European Music Competition", an international competition held in Atri (Te). His concert activity is significant and he has distinguished himself both as a soloist and as a member of orchestral and chamber group formations, performing both in Italy and abroad. Currently, he is the titular harpsichordist in the Orchestra da Camera Barocca of Bergamo, and has appeared with them in the role of soloist, tackling some of the most challenging works in Baroque repertoire, such as Concerti per clavicembalo by Johann Sebastian Bach
