Cristina Ariagno has devoted the last few years to studying and performing the works of French composers from 1880 to the Second World War. She has recorded the complete works of Satie; compositions by wrongfully forgotten musicians such as Louis Aubert, Germaine Tailleferre, Lilì Boulanger; and more well known compositions, among them those by Debussy (all of his chamber music with piano) or by Ravel. She has a passion for Art Nouveau, which drove her to examine the work of Reynaldo Hahn
closely. Several years of intense research allowed her to uncover many of his previously unpublished pieces, which have been recorded and are presented in this CD, as a world premiere.
An affirmed and experienced concert artist, she has made recordings for the well-known record label Nuova Era, as well as for Arts and Timpani. She has also made many recordings which have been published by Brilliant Classics.
Massimo Marin, Christian Bellisario, Gabriella Bosio, Claire Gouton, Pierluigi Puglisi and Manuel Zigante are some of the artists she has worked with. In addition she has also edited pieces for Editions Lemoine and Heugel.
Active in the world of contemporary art, she is frequently called upon to appear at the Musei d'arte Contemporanea in performances tied to the quest for total art, such as Satie with Vexations. She has been invited to appear at the Ferdinandeum in Innsbruck, in Montreal, at the GAM in Spoleto, in Lyon…
Born in Turin, she lives and works in Romano Canavese.
