Angelo Manzotti, sopranista, specialises in re-proposing the historical repertoire of the castrati, which dates back to the beginning of the 17th century, focusing particular attention on the sacred and operatic musical productions of the 1700s (Händel
, Hasse, Vivaldi, Pergolesi
, etc.) but also venturing into contemporary music.
Winner of the international competition "Luciano Pavarotti" in Philadelphia in 1992 and of the first Torneo Internazionale di Musica (Roma 1992), he was awarded the "Timbre de Platine" of Opéra International with his first recording of Arie di Farinelli (1995), which is a programme being presented on tour since 1994.
He has recorded for Rai Italiana, for the Eurovision circuit and for the Dutch television network.
Performing in Italy, Europe, America and Asia, he has worked with some of the most prestigious instrumental ensembles.

Together with Piero Nuti, he has been the star of the show: Quel delizioso orrore (Vita di Farinelli, evirato cantore) by Cappelletto and Barbieri since 1997 and which has been performed in Italy and abroad more than 40 times.
He has made 22 recordings of recitals and entire operas performing leading roles.
He appeared as the protagonist in the contemporary opera, L'Angelo e il Golem by F. La Licata, composed expressly for him.
Recently he held a recital at the Teatro La Fenice di Venezia together with the Venice Baroque Orchestra under the direction of Andrea Marcon, a tour of performances built around Farinelli at Musical Festivals in Mexico, and concerts in Seoul (Korea) and in Spain, and he interpreted Farinelli at the Teatro Regio in Turin.
He has also participated in a short film on Giovan Battista Velluti, one of the last castrates who sang for Rossini
He recently held a masterclass and concerts in Vancouver (Canada) and performed at the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo during the operatic season. He just concluded a series of concerts in Istanbul and Madrid and he participated in the first performance of modern times of Decebalo by Leonardo Leo and completed the recording of a new CD entirely dedicated to Porpora for Tactus.
His future engagements include: Marc'Antonio e Cleopatra by Hasse and recording the "Quaderno di Farinelli
" with the arias composed for Maria Teresa d'Austria.
